INDIGENOUS PEOPLE ADVISORY FORM

This program is sponsored by Aluminum Stewardship Initiative, Australia. The program has 3 main components:
1. Meeting of ASI Indigenous people Advisory Form (IPAP) 2019: The meeting was organized at Capitol Hill, Ranchion25-28.02.2019.Tribal people are exploited and discriminated and in this meeting, we discussed how to protect the rights of tribal people. Tribal people are innocent and nature-loving people and play a vital role in the protection of land water and forest. But in our development process, tribal people are affected badly. Due to industrialization and urbanization, tribal life affected. They are losing their specific lifestyle and culture. We discussed in meeting how we can preserve tribal rich cultural heritage and their tradition and natural lifestyle.Major objectives of the meeting were:
a. To convene IPAP participant with Indigenous people in Jharkhand.
b. To increase awareness of sustainability issues and practices associated with bauxite mining area.
c. To provide IPAF input in the development of ASI's.
d. To share information about ASI and international slandered and training to indigenous rights.
e. To identify opportunities to create positive impact for affected communities through IPAF and ASI.

The main guests on the occasion were Father Nicolas Barla, In-country host, IPAF member, Ms. Anima Baa In-country host support, Fiona Solomon, ASI, CEO, Mark Annaddale and other foreign delegates.



A one day site visit was also made to Bauxite Mines area in Bagru village in Lohardagga district in Jharkhand.It was found that in mines area tribal people are badly affected. They have displaced from mines area and are losing their livelihood. Mines administration are not takingsteps to displaced tribal people.

2. Meeting ofASI Indigenous people Advisory Form (IPAP) 2019: The meeting was organized at the Social Development Center ( SDC), Puruliya Road in Ranchi form 2-4.03. 2019. The main agenda of the meeting was how to preserve the tribal rich culture and heritage and their natural lifestyle. A one day visit of tribal village Ulihatu at Khunti districtwas made on 1.3.2019 to understand the tribal life and their culture. Meetings and group festivalswere organized at Ulihatu village in which tribal people actively participated.

3. Trip to Rourkela, Orissa: A trip to tribal village at Rourkela, Orissa state was organized to understand the tribal culture and tradition of the Tribal of Orissa on 4-6.03.2019. All foreign delegates were actively welcomed the foreign delegates by the Tribalsby their cultural songs and dance. Foreign delegates showed their keen interest to understand their lifestyle of the Tribal.
